Preface
Dhamrai upazila is located about 40km. west of Dhaka City .It has an area of 307 skm,consists of 16 Unions, 409 villages and94171 households with a population of 496249. There is a 50 beded hospital, 3 Union sub-centre,4 UH&FWC,50 cc, one MCWC and one 20 beded Hospital in this upazila to provide health service for the community peuple.One trauma centre is also there in UHC compound, will be started soon. In addition to curative services,preventive and pro motive services are also delivered where physicians , nurses and different categories of field workers are involved. There are also a few private hospital and diagnostic centres in this upazila.
Of the total population 496249, male are 252757 and female 243492. The child bearing women 124062, reported pregnant women 12158, children <5 years 54587and children ,1year are 10052 in number in this upazila . Total number of live birth 9305(18...13/1000), Still birth 11,neonatal deat151(16..38/1000) infant death 229(21.88)/ 1000), ,< 5 death 257 (24.80/1000) are recorded in Dhamrai upazila. Fully Vaccinated Child are 99%,and valid TT 5 Coverage rate is 45.A total 12158pregnant women were registered. Among these93.31% got Ist ANC and 28.56% got 4th ANC. Cesarean section done 1995 in number, of which 166( 8.49%) per formed in UHC.
Normal delivery performed in UHC and other private facilities 776 in number ,of which 34.79% dun UHC. Institutions normal delivery is more in UHC.The patients alluded in UHC emergency are 42.09% male44.96% female and13.41% Children. During the year 2014,the number of admitted patients are 5054, of whic35.89% male, 55.46% female and 8.65% children. Total 684182 visits were made by the patient, among which 69.83% attended in community Clinic 11.62% in union level govt. facilities18.55% in UHC. 100% of the population of this upazila have access to safe drinking water, coverage of access to sanitary latrine 100
