Preface
I am very much happy to publish this Health Bulletin of Barura Upazilla Health complex.This bulletin contains all the health related data and information of 2014 of this Upazilla.The bulletin has been published to disseminate the informations of Barura Upazilla to other line department and development partners of health.I hope all the information of this bulletin will help for planning and bridging the gaps in health services of this upazilla.Brief reflections of different activities like outdoor ,indoor,emergency services, maternal and child health services and other preventive field activities run by health department of Barura Upazilla have been incorporated in this publication.In this initative all detailed information could not be furnished.I hope in future the bulletin will be much informative.We are thankful to Prof.Dr.Abul kalam Azad , Additional Director General ( Planning & development ) Director MIS DGHS for his technical assistance and financial support without which this work would have been incomplete.I am grateful to all my colleagues and other office assistants for their continued support in publishing this health bulletin.

Important information and necessary issues for Barura Upazila Health Complex
1.As I mentioned earlier this Health Complex was established in 1966 as 10 bedded Rural Health Centre.Later on in 1975 upgraded to 31 bedded Health complex.Considering , increasing population and local health demand this health complex now should be upgraded to 50 bedded one.
2.There are very shortage of rooms or spaces for separate IMCI corner, ORT corner, DOTS corner, Nutrition corner, NCD corner, Dental unit and store, doctors rooms, doctor`s rest room, reception counter etc.More field staffs like HA and AHI are needed.
3. 20 bedded Sonaimuri Hospital may be started by fulfilling manpower, suppling furnitures, instrumants and by completing remaining undone 30% construction work.
4. This health bulletin will be much helpful for local level planning and future improvement of health services of Barura specially.
