The institute feels proud to acknowledge the technical co-operation of the Government of Japan for the development of technology and manpower between period of 1979 and 1986 that results a competent team of cardiologists, cardiovascular surgeon, cardiac anesthesiologists and supporting staff. The Institute is showing all efforts to keep pace with this development and there is notable improvement in the field of investigations and management. The institute always provides the latest technical facilities for the non-invasive diagnostic procedures. Since its inception, along with the patient care service the institute is committed to develop the manpower in this field. In July 1982 the institute started its academic program by introducing MD (cardiology) course.Subsequently diploma in cardiology was started in July 1984 and MS (CTS) course in July 1985. Important information and necessary issues for National Institute of Cardiovascular Disease (NICVD)- Sher-e-Bangla Nagar- Dhaka |
Our goals are to develop more efficient manpower to provide optimum clinical services and to build up NICVD as a center of excellence. Till date NICVD is playing an effective roll in providing standard treatment for the cardiac patients. In spite of so many limitations the efficient and well trained personnel of this Institute are working to provide services to the patients and are contributing to develop skilled manpower. We need to increase our bed capacities and other logistic facilities. Now we are working for full automation system. We have plan to establish cardiac MRI, PET, IVUS and ROTA facilities in the institute. In future we want to provide the housing and lodging facilities to our officers and staff. There is also a plan to increase the hospital building in vertical extension. We also need to add cardiac ambulance and air ambulance in our transport section. Finally I am very happy to write this health bulletin of 2014 because this document will help us to compare our progress in upcoming years. This is very useful document and will help the people to understand health services and to provide us the useful advice for improvement in future.
