Preface
Dhamrai upazila is located about 40km. west of Dhaka City .It has an area of 307 skm,consists of 16 Unions, 409 villages and94171 households with a population of 490123. There is a 50 beded hospital, 3 Union sub-centre,4 UH&FWC,50 cc, one MCWC and one 20 beded Hospital in this upazila to provide health service for the community peuple.One trauma centre is also there in UHC compound, will be started soon. In addition to curative services,preventive and pro motive services are also delivered where physicians , nurses and different categories of field workers are involved. There are also a few private hospital and diagnostic centres in this upazila. Of the total population 490123, male are 249757 and female 240366. The child bearing women 120336, reported pregnant women 12012, children <5 years 53914 and children ,1year are 9932 in number in this upazila . Total number of live birth 8910(18...13/1000), Still birth 22,neonatal deat146(16..38/1000) infant death 195(21.88)/ 1000), ,< 5 death 221 (24.80/1000) are recorded in Dhamrai upazila. Fully Vaccinated Child are 98%,and valid TT 5 Coverage rate is 40.A total 12012 pregnant women were registered. Among these79.17% got Ist ANC and 34.01% got 4th ANC. Cesarean section done 2027 in number, of which 150( 7.40%) per formed in UHC. Normal delivery performed in UHC and other private facilities 751 in number ,of which 30.35% dun UHC. Institutions normal delivery is more in UHC.The patients alluded in UHC emergency are 42.24% male44.83% female and12.91% Children. During the year 2013,the number of admitted patients are 4397, of whic35.31% male, 56.35% female and 18.32% children. Total 605087 visits were made by the patient, among which 66.81% attended in community Clinic 14.94% in union level govt. facilities18.23% in UHC. 100% of the population of this upazila have access to safe drinking water, coverage of access to sanitary latrine 100
