Fulpur Upazila Health Complex | Health Bulletin 2014 |
Preface
I am very glad to Publish this health Bulletin of Fulpur Upazila Health Complex, Mymensingh with great blessings of almighty Allah. It is published to disseminate the information of Upazila to other line departments and development partners of health with a hope that this will help for planning and bridging the existing gaps in health services. The bulletin will also help us to see the result and achievement of 2013 in Health sector. The bulletin contains all the information of health status of this upazila. Fulpur is the largest upazila in Mymensingh district. It is about 30kms to the north of Mymensingh sador. There are 20 unions and 377 villages. About 6,57,654 people live in this upazila. Most of them have low socioeconomic condition. People living in this upazila depends mostly on agriculture, Their homes are made up of wood, bamboo & tins. Sanitary condition of is not up to the level. Almost all use tube well water for drinking & household purpose.A few of the tube wells are contaminated with arsenic. These tube wells are marked and people are alerted not to drink water from them. There are still some people who are using impure drinking water due to lack of knowledge and difficulties to access tube wells. The main river passing beside the health complex is Khoria. This health complex is situated in such a suitable place that communication with the unions as well as other upazilas is easily accessible.Above all Dhaka-Sherpur highway is passing beside the health complex. All sanctioned & vacant posts are published here to bring attention of the higher authority. I think this health bulletin software is a great step in digitailsation of our health sector, with a view to achieve a digital Bangladesh.

Important information and necessary issues for Fulpur Upazila Health Complex |
Important information and necessary issues for Fulpur Upazila Health Complex |
Fulpur upazila is one of the largest upazila in Bangladesh. It has a fifty (50) bed health complex and three (03) union sub centres(RD).Out of 73 proposed community clnics, 57 are functioning and 16 are under construction. CHCPs,health assistants & FWAs are providing services at community clinics. There are 14 Union Health and Family Welfare Centers (UH & FWC) in our upazilla, which are run by the FWVs and SACMOs. Two (02) private clinics are providing service in this upazilla and some diagnostic centers are also present here. In spite of having all these health care facilities in this upazila there is a lack of a trauma center here.As I have mentioned earlier in the preface that Dhaka-Sherpur highway is beside the health complex, injury cases have to be dealt by the physicians & other health staffs frequently,Therefore,we need a trauma center immediately to save the lives & impairments of the victims of RTA.We also need some more union sub centers to render services at the doorstep of the villagers. I feel proud that my staffs are delivering good service to the poor villagers with so many limitations.I like to mention some important factors which will help us to improve our service in future.Theses are: 1. The vacant posts should be filled up immediately. 2. Our doctors and nurses need more training on IMCI. 3. Number of community clinics should be increased. 4. All the repairable equipments should be repaired as early as possible. Finally I am very happy to publish this health bulletin of 2014, because this document will help us to compare our progress in upcoming years.
