Preface
This bulletin contains all health related information of 2013 of Narayanganj Sadar upazilla according to the demand to achieve the goal of GOB in health sector. All the information of this bulletin will help for future planning and bridging the gaps in health services of this Upazila. Targeted people of this Upazila are many which is about one million. We are serving them with our all available resources to provide better services. This bulletin provides information of the status of MDG-4, MDG-5, safe drinking water and sanitation status and other things as manpower, structures etc. Finally we are expressing our heartiest acknowledgement to the initiator of the health bulletin software for setting us one step ahead toward digital Bangladesh. Total land area is about 100.75 sq. km. with 10 unions. There is only union has sub-centre in Baktaboli union. We have 10 Sub Assistant Community Medical Officers (SACMO), 02 Health Assistants, 06 Assistant Health Inspectors and 30 Health Assistants to run all the programs held in the field and office premises. We have 20 CHCPs to run 14 community clinics in different wards of the above mentioned unions in our Upazilla.

 Important information and necessary issues for Narayanganj (Sadar) Upazila Health Office As mentioned on introduction about one million people live in our working area. Total land area is about 100.75 sq km approximately. Only 30 Health Assistants, 06 Assistant Health Inspectors and 02 Health Inspectors are serving this huge number of population. If a health assistant wants to serve the targeted people properly in his/her working area, we need more 60 Health Assistants. Additional 04 Assistant Health Inspectors and 02 Health Inspectors are need to supervise those Health Assistants. Officially there are two 20 bedded hospitals and 10 Union Sub-centres. But in physically there is no structure of 20 bedded hospitals. We have only one Union Sub-Centre. If we wish to contribute to reach that goal (digital Bangladesh) in Narayanganj Sadar Upazila, the high authority can take necessary steps to solve these problems. Dr. Md. Shamsur Rahman UH & FPO.
