Preface
Though not 100% authenticated this bulletin draws a sketch of the health scenario of Matlab (South) Upazila, a highly Populated land area of 131.69sq km with both water and road transport facilities building its economy through agriculture , small industries and overseas employment, its literacy level is good. This bulletin will give an idea about existing health status of Matlab (south) including health facilities, human resources, logistics, service provided, disease and death profiles, child and maternal death situation, immunization etc. This yearly publication in the prescribed format of MIS , DGHS helps us understanding Priorities ,deficiencies and scopes of health concerns thus planning and developing strategies for improved health and family planning service delivery to keep our peoples healthy. We appreciate MIS for offering us such a worthy opportunity and we would humbly request MIS department to develop uniform information collecting formats for the field level workers so that all the relevant data are obtained to make the bulletin a correct one . A nation wide unique pregnant registration protocol is to be developed to avoid duplication. MMR in 2013 of Matlab(South) is 163.43 , which approaches MDG 5 Target of 143 , immunization achievement is good , fully vaccinated child 89% , BCG Coverage 99% , still we will give our best to achieve 100% Success in 2014. May Allah bless us.

Important information and necessary issues for Matlab(Daxin) Upazila Health Complex |
 Population growth and introduction of new projects increases workload on health workers , lack of manpower and difficult door to door physical communication hurdle smooth running of programms. 16 posts of health assistants are vacant, and 10 HA are in SIT Training,05 post of MA are vacant, fulfillment of these post is essential to cope with the present workload and to achieve the goal. Load shedding of power supply is a curse here in matlab (South) . Creation of proper working atmosphere through social and political support is mandatory to get better result.
