Preface
Patiya is one of the largest Upazila of Bangladesh. Total area of this upazila is 365 sq. km. There are a Municipality & 22 Union council in this Upazila. The total population of this Upazila of about 522728. But for this huge population there is a few health facility. There are a one 50 beded hospital, seven union sub-center, sixteen health & family welfare center and 51 community clinics in this Upazila. The EmOC program are functioning in the 50 beded hospital. This 50 beded hospital is also a women friendly hospital. Average Bed occupancy rate in this hospital about 102% .

 In this moment to improve health service in Patiya Upazila the urgent need is to fill-up the vacant post of office staffs & also to provide some modern digital instrument (e.g. X-Ry Machine) which are very necessary for treatment.
