Preface
I am very glad to publish this Health Bulletin of Rangpur Medical College Hospital. This Bulletin contains all the health related information upto December 2013. This Hospital is one of the major government medical college Hospitals in Bangladesh, located in Rangpur district under new Rangpur Division. Since this hospital has name and fame, complicated patients from all the 8 districts of Rangpur division come here for their proper treatment. The bulletin contains the status of MDG-4 and MDG-5 which will also help to localize the MDG targets. All the sanctioned and vacant posts are published in this bulletin of 2013. I like to draw attention of the higher authority to look into these issues. Finally, I would like to congratulate the initiator of the health bulletin software for setting us one step ahead toward digital Bangladesh.

Important information and necessary issues for Rangpur Medical College Hospital |
Last year we could not give our maximum efforts to improve the health status due to many reasons. Here I like to mention some important factors which will help us to achieve good results. As the number of patients has been increasing day by day, number of service provider must be increased for quality service. All the posts of Doctors, Nurses, Aya, Wardboy, Sweepers, Technologists, Radiographers have been filled up for previous 500 bedded hospital but since the hospital has been increased to 1000 bedded hospital and bed occupancy rate is very high, at least 1,500 admitted patients need adequate care daily & the following suggestions are given for improvement of quality services. 1. Existing number of manpower should be increased to three folds. 2. To achieve the goal of MGD-5 maternal mortality rate can be decreased by creating & filling up 15 Gynae Consultant post. 3. To sustain and more achievement, MDG-4 by 15 Paediatric Consultants should be created and filled up. 4. 15 Cardiology Consultant posts must be created and filled up to decrease cardiac death. 5. For Burn Plastic Surgery unit existing 4 nurses & 5 doctors should be increased to 10 Surgery Consultant & 10 Nurses. 6. Vacant post must be filled up for OCC (one stop crisis centre) unit. 7. Existing 40 IMO's posts must be increased to 100. 8. Existing 02 MO's post must be increased to 07 for 8 hourly duties. 9. Blood grouping & screening charge of TTI's for PPH mother & under-5 children into the hospital must be free to decrease MMR & IMR. 10. Rangpur Sodar infectious Hospital must be handed over to the control of Civil Surgeon with necessary doctors. Diarrhoeal patients get admitted at the emergency department of RpMCH & then the patients are transferred to the Sodar Hospital which is situated about 02 kilometers away from RpMCH which is painful & embracing. 11. Lastly empowerment of immediate repair of sewerage system, bathroom, water supply system, electric fan and ambulance is mandatory for RpMCH.
