Preface
This is the third attempt and great opportunity of us to publish Local Health Bulletin for the year 2014 of Khulna Medical College Hospital. In the last year there were so many obstacles and mistakes which hampered our journey in the publication of LHB 2013. We think some of that we can overcome this year. As I mentioned last year Khulna Medical College Hospital.is running with 19 Faculties with Indoor, Outdoor & Emergency facilities and 500 Beds but still have 250 bedded Manpower. Due to less Manpower we can't provide proper services of some Departments separately such as ICU, CCU, NEURO MEDICINE, RESPIRATORY MEDICINE, BURN& PLASTIC SURGERY, PEDIATRIC SURGERY, PSYCHIATRY, ONCOLOGY, CASUALTY etc.We are very much glad that this year HB enters in the era of ICD 10 Coding world.We are trying our best to input correct ICD 10 Code in top 10 diseases among admitted Pt's & Deaths. The Bulletin contains the different status of MDG4 & MDG5 which will help us to achieve the goal of MDGs timely.We are hardly trying our best to provide better services to the surrounding people of Khulna including a large area of Dhaka & Barisal Division. I convey my gratitude to the different Teachers, Doctors and other staffs who helped us with their sincere & devoted mental support to publish this Bulletin. It is our another strong step in the way to achieve Digital Bangladesh. Lastly I myself and in favor of our institute & people convey congratulations to MIS, DGHS and MOHFW for their cordial co-operation in the way to develop "Digital Bangladesh."

Important information and necessary issues for Khulna Medical College Hospital |
A Linear Accelerator machine for Radiotherapy dept. for the treatment of CANCER is going to be installed within a short time. The construction work of casualty & ICU unit will be completed within a short period but could not be functioning due to badly in need of skilled & supportive Manpower. Last year we added some necessary electro- medical equipments such as 4D Color Doppler, Mammography machine, Biochemical Auto Analyzer, Blood Gas Analyzer, Cardiac monitor for CCU, Ventilator for ICU, NCV machine, Central Oxygen and other Gas supply system, Air Cooler , Refrigerator etc. for the better Diagnostic & Treatment purposes of the patients,But it is very much painful that Manpower for the 500 bedded yet not sanctioned.It is also noted that no manpower is still sanctioned for newer Departments which is the main & important constrain to deliver proper services. But we are very glad to inform that with too short manpower ( Doctors, Nurses& other staffs) Khulna Medical College Hospital is serving a huge number of people with great Care, which would be about 3( three) crores.There is a conference room without any modern communicating devices, which needs modern communicating & Air Conditioning devices for proper use. There is no IT communication among WARDs, OTs, Administrative areas , outdoor& Emergency, which is the necessity of time for easy, early & proper services to the patients. We very badly in need of one MRI machine for Radiology & Imaging Dept. I would like to draw proper and sincere attention to the requisite higher authorities to provide necessary manpower( Doctors, Nurses & other staffs), electro- medical,& electronic equipments and Vehicles to smooth run the Hospital with immediate effect. Finally i would like to convey my sincere gratitude and acknowledge the continuous support & positive attitude of MOHFW & DGHS(MIS) to encourage us to publish the Local Health Bulletin 2014 and also provide better services to the people.
