Important information and necessary issues for Tangail 250 bed District Hospital
100 Bedded District Hospital, Tangail has been transformed into 250 bed General Hospital in 2008 But sanctioned post of various categories of staffs for 250 Bedded General Hospital were not according to the standard manpower set up needed for 250 bedded hospital. So a large gap was prevailing from the very beginning leading to a burden to a satisfactory health care service.More over, about 15-17 posts of doctors out of 58 posts are remaining vacant more or less continuously. The provision of maintenance & repair of electromedical equipment should be one stop service. Otherwise continuation of quality & standard service would not be possible. Another area of our burden is the number of bed sanction as well as the space constructed. In 250 Bedded General Hospital the standard space should be 2,00,000 Lac Sq feet but the existing space is 95,00,000 Sq feet. In the hospital there is 250 bed but daily indoor patient 450-525 and their attendants make a huge crowd leading to a critical work environment. All doctor can not be accommodated within the campus residence. So some doctors are remaining out side the campus. In case of emergency management specially at night, they have to come from a distance on foot having no car, no CNG/Auto rickshaw. So this hospital is always running with a shortage of Doctors, same is the case with 3rd & 4th class employee in particular cleaner, aya, security guards. Shortage should be met urgently. This institution requires CT Scan, Digital X ray machine and a vehicle for doctors for emergency service. There is lacking of waiting rooms for the patients. There is no wide spaced veranda for the attendants for sitting/Eating. The drainage system, Sanitary system were made according to 100 bedded hospital, but now it needs to renovate for 250 bedded hospital. These all are great challenges for Quality health service.
