Important information and necessary issues for Bandarban District Hospital
Important issues and recommendations for Bandarban district hospital:
1. Shortage of human resources: 100 bedded hospital is running with sanctioned post of 50 bedded hospital and with shortage of staffs.A rapidly growing tourist district hospital is running without the placement of the following key positions: Anesthesiologist, Medicine and Orthopedic consultants. Staff pattern should be sanctioned as 100 bedded hospital with immediate placement for smooth running of the hospital.
2. Capacity building: Doctors, nurse & paramedics need to provide and adequate training for smooth discharge of service delivery & up-gradation of new development in medical science. 3. Shortage of equipment & logistics: All essential life saving equipment & logistics related to service delivery should be provided. 4. Encouragement: health care delivery staffs working in this district hospital are most neglected and deprived in all aspects comparing national standard. Incentive system like foreign training, promotion, better posting, appreciation, recognition etc should be provided to encourage them. A systematic and organized health service encouragement scheme or policy can enhance better health care delivery in this district hospital. 5. Infrastructure: (a) Construction of infrastructure considering the requirement of the hospital for better and smooth functioning is crucial. (b) Immediate posting of one anesthesiologist is very crucial for full functioning of EOC.Finally, I am very happy to prepare this health bulletin 2014, because this document will help us to compare our progress in upcoming years and with other district hospital . This bulletin is a very useful document and will help public to understand the health service of the district and to provide useful information & suggestions for further improvement of ongoing health care delivery system of the district in the years coming.
Thank you all
