About 72% people of this district is literate . It is surrounding by feni and comilla at north, laksmipur at the west, the bay of bangle at the south. All the upazillas are very accessible through Road and highways. 250-bed general hospital is securing the peoples health and well being at Noakhali, laksmipur as well as feni . Its total services are divided into outdoor, emergency and indoor facilities. It has Medicine,Surgery,Gynae and obs, Pediatrics, ENT, Eye,Orthopedics,Cardiology,Skin & VD departments. We have routine operation as well as emergency operative facilities 24 hour round the clock and 30 days a month. We are enriched with experienced doctors along with young and energetic medical officers who are providing health care services to all patients attending the hospital throughout day and night. Though it is a 250 bed hospital but its infrastructure and man power belongs to 150 bed. So this facility is not adequate to provide proper healthcare to the patients.More over we have to face and manage the patients of Noakhali medical college hospital, as our hospital is currently acting as its temporary campus. There is daily number of admitted patients is about 550. For better management we need adequate man power and infrastructure facilities. We need upgraded diagnostic and therapeutic facilities like CT scan,MRI, Autoanalizer, Infusion pump etc. We also need new departments like CCU, ICU, HDU and Burn unit. With all our short comings we are trying to provide better health care each day and looking forward towards better future with more opportunities for patients with digital technologies.
