Preface
We are very glad to publish a Health Bulletin of Parbatipur Upazila for the 4th time. It contains all the health related informations of 2014. Most of the information is collected from the report of our health department and some are from family planning department and health related NGOs of this upazila. It is published to disseminate the information of health service of this upazila to other line departments and development partners of health. The publication of this bulletin will make us transparent to others. Our performances, achievements, failures, shortfalls, deficiencies and realities of the health situation of this upazila will be understood. The service providers and service recipients will come closer. Field of co-operation and active participation will be extended. Suggestions and directives from others for the improvement of our activities will be cordially expected which will enrich our activities. Overall the image of our health department will be improved. This health bulletin will help us to find available facilities and probable barriers for planning and bridging the gaps in health services of this upazila. This bulletin contains the data related to MDG4 and MDG5 which will help to localize the MDG targets. It has the information on safe drinking water and sanitation status of the upazila. It also contains the number of patient treated, top ten diseases causing hospital admission and top ten diseases causing death in the hospital. All the sanctioned and vacant posts are published in this bulletin. Hereby we draw the attention to the higher authority to look into this issue. I thank family planning department and health related NGOs and all of my colleagues and staffs, especially statistician, for their contribution in preparing this Bulletin. Finally I would like to congratulate MIS department of DGHS, the initiator of the health bulletin software, setting us one step ahead toward Digital Bangladesh.

Important information and necessary issues for Parbatipur Upazila Health Complex
In conclusion ,our interpretation is that, last year we could not deliver optimum health service to the people of the upazila due to many reasons, most of which are reflected in this Health Bulletin. But we tried our level best with existing facilities to deliver quality health service to the people. I like to mention some important issues which will help us to achieve good results in future.** All the vacant posts should be filled up immediately.** This UHC should be taken under EmOC or DSF project and necessary number of Doctors and Nurses should be given basic EmOC training ** Rest of the Doctors, SACMOs and Nurses who didn`t get basic IMCI training should be trained up very soon. **All the female HAs should be trained as CSBA ** Basic and Refresher Training on different subjects should be arranged time to time for all level Health Care Providers.**A new ambulance is to be supplied very soon for this UHC.** Supply of all needed Equipments is to be ensured and repairable Equipments specially X-ray machine should be repaired as soon as possible. Finally we are happy to publish this Health Bulletin of 2013 because this Document will enable us to compare our progress in upcoming years.
