Rajshahi Civil Surgeon Office | Health Bulletin 2015 |
Preface
Rajshahi district was a part of the pundra region of ancient Bengal and earlier it was known as "Beuleah". Along with all of Bangladesh, Rajshahi witnessed both great atroceties by the pakistan army and heroic struggles by freedom fighters during the liberation war in 1971 and it is a healthy, educational and friendly environmental city. It is 2463 sq km. It has 9 upazilas, 72 unions with 462378 households. All the upazila is accessible through roads. The population is around 2913779. Bagmara upazila is the most populated and large upazila of this district. The godagari upazila is an endemic for Kala-azar. Most of the house is made of mud, brick and the road condition is very well. The Padma is the main river which passes beside the Rajshahi city. Most of the people in this district depend on agriculture.

Important information and necessary issues for Rajshahi Civil Surgeon Office
Last year we could not put our maximum efforts to improve the health status due to many reasons. Here I like to mention some important factors which will help us to achieve good result in future. 1. The vacant post should be filled immediately. 2. Our doctor and nurse has finished training on IMCI 3. 232 Number of community clinic are running and 232 CHCP are joined in this Community clinic. 4. Three months basic and practical trainig has finished. 5. Now Doctors, Nurses, all health worker and CHCP have to be given proper service in health sector. Finally I am very happy to write this health bulletin of 2014 because this piece of information will help us to compare our progress in upcoming years. This is a very useful document and will help the public to understand the health services and provide us the useful advice for improvement in future.
