Preface
Service to mankind is service to God” & Health Service is the front liner. Long felt necessity to disseminate our annual performance is a reality now by publishing this local health Bulletin 2015, which is an act of great pleasure & excitement for me and my efficient colleagues. I would like to thank and congratulate all the doctors, nurses, paramedics, supporting staffs and line departments both GO and NGO for their contribution in health. I must thank BRAC individually for their contribution in TB control programme and MNCH programme This health Bulletin as a document could help the central and local managers, line departments and field level staffs to analyze the situation of our district for planning , reviewing and under taking necessary steps for qualitative and quantitative improvement of Health Services. The present democratic government has revitalized the community clinic initiatives in Bangladesh to reach the health care services to the door steps of the common people. At present 96 community clinics are functioning in this district. This Bulletin contains the success, achievement, constraints and status of MDG-4, 5. 6. and information of safe drinking water and sanitary status of the district. It also includes human resource situation in Magura Health Department, So that, the higher authority could take initiatives to fulfill the vacant posts for better and smooth running of the health facilities under this district. I acknowledge with sincere gratitude to the DGHS regarding conceptual, financial and technical support in publishing this local Health Bulletin. Congratulations to the initiators of the Health Bulletin Software for setting us one step ahead towards digital Bangladesh

Important information and necessary issues for Magura Civil Surgeon Office
Magura District Hospital is the most potential health facility in the district. Though it is hundred beded hospital, on an average 200-250 patients stay here daily . This hospital is adjacent to Dhaka –Khulna highway. A large number of Road traffic accident patients come here daily for receiving emergency service. So establishment of a Trauma center at Magura is long felt and heartiest demand of peoples of Magura. It is a comprehensive EOC facility, with at the same time MNCH activities are going on throughout the district. So the flow of pregnant women and child patients are increasing remarkably.Following problems of health sector should be solved- 1. wards and operation theater should be renovated in modern way with air conditioner in emergency basis until the 250 beded hospital project is completed. 2. Now, Shalikha UHC is functioning with 50 beds.. 20 bed hospital project at Binodpur of Mohammadpur and Beroil Polita of Sadar Upazila, 10 beded Maternal & Child health center at Arpara of Shalikha and Sreepur of Sreepur Upazila are under on going process. To provide smooth service to people, it is our utmost demand to implement the mentioned projects immediately. 3. Finally, One Ambulance is required fo Sadar Hospital and 1 for Shalikha UHC and 01 X-ray plant to be set up at chest diseases clinic. X ray , USG machine and other equipments should be repaired immediately. 4. All vacant posts should be filled up as soon as possible 5..At least one cleaner and one security guard post should be created for each union sub centers. 6. Regularization of EPI related posts should be done. 7. District & Upazilla Stores should be renovated or re-constructed .
