Preface

Dhamrai upazila health complex was established in 1962. This upazila is located about 40km. west of Dhaka City on the west bank of the river Bangshi.The Dhamrai upazila has an area of 307 sqkm,consists of 16 Unions, 409 villages and 94171 households with a population of 503692. There is a 50 bed hospital,3 Union sub-centre,4 UH&FWC. In our upazila 51 community clinic is proposed of which 48 community clinic is running.There is one 20 bed hospital in this upazila,one MCWC,9 FWC to provide health service to the people.One trauma center is also there in UHC compound which is under construction.In UHC curative,preventive and pro motive services are delivered. Here Junior consultant of different discipline,Medical officer,Dental surgeon has been providing health services to the people.Different categories of field workers are involved to provide preventive and pro motive service.There are also a few private hospital and diagnostic centers in this upazila.Among the total population of 503692, male are 255479 and female are 248213.The child bearing women are 124062, reported pregnant women 10287.The number children <5 years are 55406 and children >1year are 10197. 100% of the population of this upazila have access to safe drinking water,and sanitary latrine. This health bulletin reflects all of our activities related to health in 2015,and It will help us to evaluate, planning and monitoring of health activities of this upazila. Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
The hospital is running well but there are some constrains to meet the goal, like shortage of man power specially at field level. more sweepers are required for proper cleaning. other vacant post third & fourth class employees should be filled up very urgently. A 500ma digital X-ray machine is necessary. There is no store room in this hospital, construction of new store room is essential.
