Preface

We are very much delighted that by the grace of almighty Allah & with the co-operation of all concerned we have been able to publish health bulletin 2016. The leadership & direction of MIS, DGHS has made us possible in timely publication of this bulletin. Health bulletin is the pen picture of annual health activities of an upazila. Vital statistics for Matlab south upazila for 2015 are-The MMR 153 per 1,00,000 live Births, IMR 27 per 1000 live births, fully vaccinated children is 97 %. Through introduction of different innovative programmes like HSS, 5S KAIZEN-TQM , The environment & quality of services in Upazila Health complex has improved remarkably. . The quality of health bulletin is improving every year by effective and innovative use of information technologies under the guidance of MIS, DGHS. We hope that MIS will continue its efforts to improve the health bulletin. May Allah help us to continue our efforts to improve the health standard of our people.

Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
In the recent years the quantity & quality of services has remarkably improved. But we could improve more if vacant posts of support staffs like cleaner, Aya/ward boy, night guard would filled up. The current sanctioned posts of cleaner & aya/ ward boy should be increased to improve the quality of services in hospital. Vacant posts of health assistants also should be filled up to improve field services.
