Preface

Hatiya is an island upazilla of Noakhali district. It is 60 km south to the Noakhali Sadar. It has 11 Unions, of that 2 Unions attached with mainland Noakhali. Number of households is 99,486 with 5,07,381 population. Upazilla Health Complex located 10 km south to the Nolchira Sea-truck ghat. The whole upazilla is surrounded by Meghna River except it's south part which is by The Bay of Bangle. Agriculture, fishing and small enterprise business are the main source of income of it's inhabitants.
