Preface

Thanks to Almighty Allah. By the grace of Him we have completed the local health bulletin 2016 of Haripur Upazila. This health bulletin reflects all the health related aspects of Haripur Upazila for the year 2015. This local health bulletin is published to disseminate the information of health sector of this Upazila to other line departments and development partners of health. The bulletin contains the status of MDG4 and MDG5, which will help to localize the MDG targets. All the sanctioned and vacant posts are published in this bulletin. Specially extreme shortage of doctors, Nurses, Word buoy / Aya and sweepers are the main obstacles to maintain standard health care. Hope the higher authority will look in to this issue. Although our ambulance is out of order, we are providing ambulance service by getting an ambulance on loan from Pirgonj Upazila Health complex by the kind effort of Civil Surgeon, Thakurgaon, but it is also in a very vulnerable condition. Finally I must congratulate the initiator of the health bulletin program and software, for setting us one step ahead towards Digital Bangladesh. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad Chowdhury UH&FPO Haripur Upazila Health Complex
