Preface

Shyamnagar Upazila is the largest upazila in Bangladesh and situated in the satkhira District. It is the remote upazila of Satkhira and 50 km away from Sodar. It has got 12 Unions and the population is around 359244. Shyamnagar Upazila Health Complex is situated in the Sadar Upazila and it is 50 bedded hospital. Bed occupancy rate is 194.5 Total patient treated in this hospital in 2015 were 106673 including Outdoor-46825, Indoor-35494, Emerjency-13566, IMCI-10788, Major operations mainly Caesarian Section done- 1141 and Minor operations- 5184 and the total delivery were 7125. This huge performances are contributed by only 10 doctors with other limited supporting staffs. Along this hospital services 40 Community Clinics are running satisfactorily by 39 trained CHCP and health and family planning workers and ensuring primary health care with great effort. This hospital already awarded, Health Minister award-2014 (1st Position). Total Quality Management Award 2015 (3rd Position). People from some nearby Upazila like Asasuni, Kaligonj, Kayra also come here everyday for better health service. As it is a remote and primary care hospital we have some limitations like limited Logistics, MSR, man power etc. I am very much glad to publish this health bulletin of my Upazila health complex. This health bulletin contains all the health related information of 2015 in details. This health bulletin will help us to find constrains and also to see the results and achievements of MDG goals. Finally I would like to congratulate the initiators of health bulletin Software for setting us one step ahead towards digital bangladesh.
