Preface

By the good grace of Almighty, this is the 5th attempt to publishing “Health Bulletin-2016” of Balaganj Upazila of Sylhet district. Last year (2015) we published “Health Bulletin-2015” which was the fourth attempt focusing health related activities and achievements of Balaganj Upazila for the year of 2014.This edition of “Health Bulletin-2016” focuses the achievement of the year of 2015. Although certain constrains are still existing in the health delivery system of the upazila, all service providers are trying to achieve their best quality of service delivery. The success goes to all who are related to health sector including doctor, nurses and supporting staff. No amount of appreciation is sufficient for them without whose active support this “Health Bulletin-2016” would never been the light of the day. I strongly believe that this health bulletin will act as an index to evaluate and compare with previous year and also help to enhance the development of health related states and to identify problems for future. We have a mobile phone no 01730324749. We are running telemedicine service which connects our complicated patients with experts of Sylhet MAG Osmani medical college hospital. The readers are requested to consider with sympathy if any unwanted errors still present in this bulletin, please inform the undersigned. Any constructive suggestions and criticism will be highly welcomed and appreciated. With thanks. Dr. Md. Anisur Rahman UH&FPO Balaganj Upazila Health Complex

Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
We have a X-Ray machine but it is non-functioning and there is no Medical Technologist (RG). So for better health service X-Ray machine should be made functioning and recruitment of Medical Technologist (RG) is mandatory. We have no Medical Technologist (Lab) and that`s why we can`t do any serological and routine investigation for confirmatory diagnosis of a case. So recruitment of Medical Technologist (Lab) is mandatory. We need a Generator and Solar Panel for electric supply during load shedding. We need Senior Staff Nurses. Only 3 SSN out of 10 are available here. Without Senior Staff Nurse proper health service is almost impossible. So Senior Staff Nurses recruitment is mandatory. There are 8 vacant post of 4th class employee out of 19 and 34 vacant post of 3rd class employee out of 138. So recruitment of these posts will improve the health service.
