Preface

Bangladesh is one of the most densely populated and disaster affected countries in the world. Nawabganj upazila is not an exception. It is situated in southest part of the Dinajpur district. It is placed in the west side of the upazila Pirganj of the Rangpur district. It was very challenging to provide health services among this population. In spite of challenges, this upazila has made tremendous progress in health and human development. This upazila is safe for mother for excellent performance with maternal health. Despite progress in comprehensive essential obstructive case several many other health services have need to be provided to the population. we are facing several contradiction - notable scarcity of man power. 80% of posts of Doctors are vacant. To improve and keep sustained progress, it is essential to filled up the vacant post immediately. To improve child survival and maternal health consultant post of Gynae and obs and paediatrics should be filled up.Medical equipment and logistic support should be continued in a timely fashion. Repairable instrument should be repaired immediately. Doctors and Nurses need more training on IMCI, Communicable and non- Communicable diseases. Number of Nurses with experienced person is required for improving the health development of the local people. Otherwise the improvement of health service is not possible. Moreover the development of health service is not available as manpower like ward boy and Sweeper post has to be filled up immediately, otherwise Emergency service can not be provided properly. This area is scattered and densely populated. The people of this upazila are not well educated. This upazila consists of 9 Unions, populations is 2,15,823. Though this upazila is scattered and does not have so good communications- there are several historic and amuzing places in this upazila. Such as SAUPNAPURI, ASULIARBIL,SITARCOURT,SHALBON (National Garden).
