Preface

I am very glad to know that the Local Health bulletin-2016 is published with the cordial assistance of ICT related officers and staffs of the health sector of Joypurhat district. This is the government policy to publish the Local health bulletin in every year to disseminate the information to the public, different GOs and NGOs organization. I hope all the information of this bulletin will help for making planning and also help to know the health situation of this district. So it is the mirror of district level health activities. This bulletin contains all health related information of 2015. In 2014, Maternal & Child Mortality rate of Joypurhat district was under the target line of MDG 4 and MDG 5. I am very happy to inform you all that the Maternal & Child Mortality rate of Joypurhat district of 2014 is sustained by the cordial support of all health service providers of the district in 2015. So we can say, this district is going to achieve SDG vision. We try to keep every health parameter within the target level. In spite of our all efforts, there may be lacks and gaps in health sector of this district. We are highly glad, if the public/GO & NGOs organization find out the lacks and gaps and discuss us with the matter. I would like to congratulate the Line Director of MIS, DGHS and the initiator of the health bulletin software for moving us one step ahead toward e-health. I also thanks to everybody who were involved for making Local Health bulletin-2016 of Joypurhat District. Dr. Jasim Uddin Howlader Civil Surgeon,Joypurhat.

Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
1. As per manpower status, inadequate number of doctors is posted against the sanctioned post of Joypurhat District. So, I would like to draw attention to the higher authority to make solution regarding increasing the number of doctors as soon as possible for better health service. 2. All equipment and OT facilities are available in Akkelpur upzalia, Joypurhat. Junior Consultant Gyane & Anesthesia is not posted against the vacant post for a long time. EoMC activities has been stooped due to lack of pair. So make solution to continue EoMC activities in Akkelpur upzalia, Joypurhat. Kalai UHC has been started Cesarean delivery in this year with their existing manpower, so we are expecting declaration for Kalai Upazila as a EoMC upazila very soon.
