Kurigram District is situated in north western part of Bangladesh under Rangpur Division; along the border of West Bengal and Assam states of India. The average maximum temperature is about 32.3 degree Celsius when average minimum temperature is about 11.2 degree Celsius. Heavy rainfall is usually observed during the rainy season like other parts of Bangladesh and the average annual rainfall is about 2931 mm. Kurigram is a highly disaster prone areas and is regularly affected by heavy rains, water logging, flash flood, river erosion etc.About 16 rivers are flowing through this district and the major rivers are Brahmaputra, Dharla, and Tista with minors are Dudhkumar, Phulkumar, Gangadhar, Jinjiram, Sonaburi, Halhali and Jalchira etc. It`s my great pleasure to publish this health bulletin 2016 of Kurigram district. Publication of the district health bulletin is one of the most significant events in the health service delivery system and an important step forward in planning and implementation of people-friendly health program. This bulletin contains not only health related information but will also serve as a tool for fixing new criteria and standard for further planning and achievement of the post-MDG targets. I would like to thank to all of my colleagues from district administration, officers and staffs of health department for their supports and helps in the accomplishment of this work. Finally, I wish to express my heartiest gratitude and thanks to the honorable Director of MIS, DGHS and Divisional Director (H) of Rangpur division for their cordial co-operation and all kinds of support.
