Preface

It gives me much pleasure and pride to learn that a health bulletin is going to be published from Jhenaidah district. ''Health is Wealth'' goes the proverb. And obviously it is the primary concern of an individual as well as a nation. A citizen if health, is an asset to the nation, if not is the burden to it. This data base software is filled up and published by the Statistical Section of Civil Surgeon Office, Jhenaidah. The Health Bulletin is composed for providing information to the health planners, Program Managers and all Health Care Providers (HCP) working at various level of health system. It is true that reporting and recording is the mirror of actual situation. We have already achieved some awards such as our district hospital is one of the top 5 district hospital Hon'ble Health Minister National award -2015 taken from honorable Health Minister of Bangladesh, one (Shailkupa) Upazila Health Complex award and One (Fatepur CC, Harinakundu) top most award at divisional level also taken from honorable Health Minister of Bangladesh. I express my heartiest fillings to prof. Dr. Abul Kalam Azad, Additional Director General (Administration) and Line Director of MIS, Health, DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka 1212 and Divisional Director (Health) Khulna Division, Khulna as well as his officers and staff who encouraged and guided my subordinates to compos this great work. Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
1 On 8th October 2013 Honorable Prime Minister declared Jhenaidah District Hospital 100 bed to 250 bed but no activities yet seen regarding this declaration. 2 25 bed Shishu Hospital, Jhenaidah handed over on 30.08.2006 but no Physician and other staff is recruited in till now. Only outdoor is kept functioning by using local resources. 3 There is no EPI Store in Jhenaidah District. 4. ORS planned factory is handed over on 23.08.2012 but no manpower has been recruited. DRS is not spacious and thus hampers normal stores. 5 The suicidal cases are much more in Jhenaidah than any other district in Bangladesh. Such as death per lac 14 in Jhenaidah district but nationally death is 7 per lac. For this purpose a research center is needed to setup in this area to prevent it by identifying its actual causes. A proposal has been raised during and open discussion in July, 2014 among Honorable Prime Minister, Divisional Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner but it has not yet been implemented. For this regard here to be requested for implementing this.
