Upazila: Barguna Sadar, District: Barguna, Division: Barisal
Bismillahir Rahmanir Rahim. It is our pleasure to thank MIS, DGHS for making this time-needed effort of Local Health Bulletin. It contains all necessary infomations of Health services of Barguna district. Barguna is a densely populated remote coastal district with 991130 people in1939.39sq .km area. It is well known to the world as SIDR and AYLA affected area.People of this area are mostly poor.. They depend on cultivation, fishing and small business for their livelihood.Road communication is not good here . Because two large rivers (Payra and Bishkhali ) have divided the district into three parts. Diarrhoea is endemic in this area which is more in Spring and Summer.Acute shortage of Doctors(43 out of 162sanctioned posts) makes better health service delivery difficult.Natural disasters make the scenery more troublesome.
