Preface

This is my great pleasure to publish this HEALTH BULLETIN-2016 of Rajbari District Hospital (Modernized sadar Hospital) . The bulletin contains all the health related information of 2015. At a glance, the bulletin contains the organization of the district, existing health facilities, number of patients treated in emergency, outdoor & indoor department of this hospital. The bulletin contains top 05 diseases according to the number of patients admitted in this district hospital. The bulletin also contains hospital bed occupancy rate & hospital death rate. Water & sanitation status of the hospital, class wise manpower data with percentage of vacant post are also included in this bulletin. Category wish manpower, existing important equipment, the sanctioned and the vacant post are also published in this bulletin which may draw the attention of higher authority to take necessary action as well as the local officials & elites to realize the working situation in this facility. Finally, I would like to congratulate the MIS department of DGHS for this health bulletin software, which may set us one step ahead toward digital Bangladesh. Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
We all believe that manpower, well furnished infrastructures and logistic supports are important key factors to ensure quality health service, Proper & optimum use of available resources are also important in this regard. We have faced a lot of problems in 2015 & now still confronting many problems. Briefly the burning issues to be noted & addressed are: 1) Shortage of manpower both doctors & non-doctors-Difficult to provide & maintain quality of care 2) poorly & incompletely constructed infrastructures- No post operative ward for immediate post operative care, inadequate toilet facilities 3) Lack of dental chair & accessories- Burnt 2 years back from electric short-circuit. Even simple & minor procedures are not possible to exercise. 4) Medicines of short & ultra-short expiry date supplied from CMSD- Time is too short to dispense all the medicines. 5) Lack of quality surgical instrument & surgical sutures. For smooth work we use our own/personal instrument, patient compelled to buy sutures from outside, 6) Shortage of i/v fluid-patients have to buy from outside esp. Hartman`s & cholera saline. 7) Inadequate anti rabies vaccines- So it is very difficult to satisfy patients. 8) Lack of carbon dioxide cylinder-No Laparoscopic procedure yet performed. 9) Adequate medicines- Patients are not unsatisfied.
