Preface

It is a matter of joy that health bulletin of Khagrachari district hospital is going to be published as usual. It will help us to understand the service delivery status in this hospital as well as other related information. If we want to outline a complete picture, it should be started from the beginning of the year. Data should be collected in every month from every respective ward. At the end of the year, compiled data will generate a complete picture of the service delivery. This health bulletin had been formulated in the way mentioned above. I believe this bulletin will help the reader to understand the status of achieving MDG4 & MDG5, hygiene and sanitation coverage in the district hospital and the constrains on the way to achievement as well. I hope this health bulletin will help us in planning and implementing further activities and programms in the hospital. Finally, I wish for the well being of all respective staffs who worked behind the formulation of this health bulletin for setting us one step ahead towards Digital Bangladesh.

Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
Khagrachari is a district of different geographic, demographic and socioeconomic variables and also various ethnic group resides in this district. As a secondary referral center this hospital have great demand of health services. However, due to some constrains quality service delivery is facing various challenges. The major constrain is unavailability of medical officer, emergency medical officer, specialist doctors in many areas like medicine, ophthalmology, orthopedics etc. Beside this, unwillingness to stay of doctors posted from outside of this region and weak monitoring system this problem is of great concern. Khagrachari district hospital is running as 100 beds hospital with limited resources of 50 beds hospital. However, some of the dedicated staffs are performing hard to overcome this problem. I appreciate the policy of present government to reach the health services to the people of grass root level and very happy to be the part of these extraordinary effort and link of this great chain.
