Preface

Moulvibazar, a district to the North-East of Bangladesh. It is 2,707 km in area and has a population of 1.38 million.It is surrounded by Sylhet District in the north,Habiganj District in the west and Indian States of Assam and Tripura in the east and south respectively.Moulvibazar "The tea land of Bangladesh" Out of 153 tea garden of Bangladesh 92 are situated in this district. Moulvibazar district have 7 Upazilas. 50 Beded hospital was establish on 1972 . 50 Bed hospital has extended to 100 Bed hospital in 1984 and declared to 250 bed hospital on July 2012 which was and inaugurated by Honorable Prime Minister of Peoples Republic of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina on 1st December 2012. With the existing facilities now this hospital has a well equipped pathology department performing nearly all kinds of haematological and serological investigations. The radiology department has digital X-ray, modern USG mechine with colour doppler facilities. A 126 slides spiral CT scanning machine is functioning in this hospital since 11th august 2015 performing smoothly.a well decorated Haemodialysis unit with 10 HD machine run smoothly to serve the CRF patient since November 2014. Laparoscopic surgical and gynaecological procedure are performed routinly for the peoples of this district. Endoscopy, colonoscopy and echocardiogram are also perform routinly. On the other hand existing facilities such as medicine, surgery, gynae and obs, orthopedics, isolation and emergency department is running properly. As because this 250 bedded hospital is the largest facilities for the population of this district, from all upazillas, tae garden workers and tribal peoples are come to this hospital and take facilities.
