Preface

Mugda 500 bed general hospital, Mugda, Dhaka is a relatively new hospital started functioning since 19/07/2013. It aims to provide quality patient care to the densely populated huge catchment area of the Dhaka south city corporation. Following the government instructions the beds are distributed as 300 Non-paying beds and 40 Paying beds and 160 cabins. The inpatient services were extended to provide services through Cardiology and Burn & Plastic surgery departments. The cardiology department is now having Cath lab with Pre and Post Cath facility and a full functional CCU. The Radiology department is further equipped with CT Scanner and is expected to have MRI facility soon. Surgical Operations are done round the clock. Sustainable clubfoot care is being provided by Orthopedic department. To detect malignancy of uterine cervix at an early stage, VIA activity are ongoing at the Gynecology OPD. Disease Prevention & Health Promotion services e.g. EPI, Health education, Screening for Cervical and breast cancer, MCH services are also provided regularly. Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
Members of all the categories of health care providers are committed to provide quality health care to all the incoming patients. Establishment of the services of the super specialties like Neurology, Neurosurgery, ICU, NICU, Gastroenterology, Nephrology etc. are the challenges of present time and time to come. To attain the full functionality of the hospital we need to achieve/address; 1. Finance ministry approval to recruit the ministry of public administration approved manpower 2. Increased, regular allocation and release of funds 3. Revision of the organogram 4. Enhance the security system. Completion of the planned constructions as soon as possible would further facilitate the provision of timely care with high quality.
