Upazila: Kotwali, District: Dhaka, Division: Dhaka
I take the pleasure to publish online Local Health Bulletin of Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital (SSMCMH) Mitford road, Dhaka. Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital is the oldest hospital in the country which was established in 1st May 1858 and started its function at Mitford Medical School, Dhaka with only 32 patients. In course of time it has been upgraded to six hundred bedded tertiary level hospital. Initially there were only two disciplines e.g. Medicine & Surgery. At present it has got 31 departments including CCU, ICU and NICU facilities. Presently Sir Salimullah Medical College Mitford Hospital is providing health care services to a large number of patients who are coming from various part of the country specially from old Dhaka & southern districts of Bangladesh. I am grateful to MOH&FW and DGHS for their continuous support and co-operation in providing health care services to the distressed people of the country. I would like to give thanks to all concerned who has made their contribution to publish this health bulletin-2016. I believe this is the beginning of a new era, the "Digital Era" of Bangladesh health services, which will continue to advance and enrich in the days to come.
