Preface

It is a great pleasure for me to be involved in publishing the Local Health Bulletin -2016 of CDH Rajshahi which reflect T.B & other related exciting information of last year. It is one of the important, critical. annual documents one of the witness of many achievements. It will enable every citizen & related G.O, NGO partner to have free access to necessary information. Chest Disease Hospital was established first in the year 1966 .Renamed as Chest Disease Hospital, Rajshahi(CDHR) in the year 1998 with 150 beds. It is situated at Laxmipur of Rajshahi City Corporation . Both PTB and EPTB,MDR patients get treatment in this hospital. Other than TB different respiratory diseases like COPD, Bronchitis, Br .asthma, Chr. bronchits, ILD etc are also treated here. CDH,R has its specially to have new laboratory '' Regional Tuberculosis Reference Laboratory" (RTRL) inaugurated in year 2008 to diagnose MDR TB. Sputum Culture and DST is available here. In addition to this gene xpert machine stablisher -2013 for rapid diagnosis of MDR TB within two hours. All MDR patients Rajshahi, Rangpur & Khulna Division are treated in this hospital with 9 months regimen free of cost. Also a high power digital x-ray machine(1000ma) has been set-up in this hospital . At the present time we urgently require a new high profile 8 module gene xpert machine replacing the old one which show occasionally error. Finally , I would like to extend my thanks & congratulations to MIS, DGHS for their whole hearted required support. I really and sincerely appreciates my colleagues & stuffs who are directly/ indirectly involved in the production of the comprehensive qualitative & quantitative improved yearly performance of CDH, Rajshahi which will help to end TB by 2030.
