Preface

It is my great pleasure to publish the online local health bulletin 2016 of Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital, Mirpur, Dhaka.This bulletin contains health related information & data of this organization for the period of January to December 2015. This hospital was established in 10 March1990 as a 100 bedded tertiary level Hospital which has outdoor, emergency, pathology, radiology, Family planing unit and 7 wards such as Unani Medicine (Male ward), Ayurvedic Medicine (Male ward), Unani Medicine (Female ward), Ayurvedic Medicine (Female ward), Unani (Gynae & Child ward), Ayurvedic (Gynae & Child ward), and Surgery ward. It is the only one government Unani & Ayurvedic Medical College teaching hospital of Bangladesh. Everyday all types of patients from different corners of Bangladesh are taking services from this hospital for better management and health care.We have the specialty of Unani & Ayurvedic medical services. We have our limitations like shortage of support staff and insufficient facilities like EMO, Cleaner, Driver, X-ray machine, USG machine, ECG, generator, ward stabilizer machine, etc.However, we are trying to service to the needy people at our level best. All our achievements, failures, short fails have been reflected in this bulletin for general information & kind consideration of all concerned readers. Proposals & instructions for the development of our activities are warmly expected and will enhance our future arrangement & accomplishment. I am very much grateful to MIS- DGHS, Mohakhali, Dhaka for their cordial on line guidance to prepare & publish this health bulletin. Important information and necessary issues you want to raise
Important information and necessary issues for Government Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital. I would like to mention some of important issues that will help us to achieve better result such as, 1). There are one medical officer, one residential physician, one registrar, twelve indoor medical officers, two research/production officer and one radiologist appointed in this hospital under AMC project. It should be transferred in revenue budget as soon as possible for better patient care. 2). Shortage of manpower: we have vacant posts of 1st, 3rd & 4th class employee. Our recommendation is that the vacant posts should be filled up as soon as possible.We have no recruitment rules, so it is very difficult to filled up the vacant post and promotion also.Should be establish officers quarter, internee doctors dormitory and nurses dormitory. 3).One PWD sub station must be establish in the hospital campus to look after emergency repair and maintenance. Future expansion: a). Sanction budget for GUAMCH is very little. It should be increased for better management. b). Room accommodation for AD, RP, RS, IMO and ward in charges are needed and also this hospital should be expanded as 250 bedded with manpower. So, vertical extension should be done in hospital building as soon as possible. Finally I am very glad to publish this Health Bulletin 2016 in favor of staffs of Govt.Unani and Ayurvedic Medical College Hospital.
